Eastern Pacific Shipping (“EPS”) is the industry-leading ship management company owned by Idan. The company’s roots lie in the enterprise established by Idan’s father 60 years ago. Today the company is the industry leader in green and technology-driven shipping. EPS is headquartered in Singapore and has 6,000 onshore and offshore staff, who drive forward the EPS agenda of being the safe and efficient transport provider of choice.
The EPS Scholarship Fund, which was set up in partnership with The Foundation, aims to award up to 10 full-term scholarships per year to Singaporeans pursuing a career in the maritime industry. The initiative forms part of a wider program launched by EPS, that supports individuals and communities through donations, fundraising and volunteer work.
The scholarships are reserved for young people seeking to pursue a career in maritime business, marine engineering, or life at sea as a seafarer. The initiative therefore fulfils EPS’ commitment to future generations by providing students with an opportunity to become the maritime leaders of tomorrow.
The Foundation’s partnership with EPS falls under the leadership arm of the mission, which has a clear remit; to train the next generation of leaders. Importantly, the scholarship fund is not solely about providing financial support but serves as a bridge for the next generation of leaders hoping to build a career in one of the most dynamic industries in the world.
