Yad Sarah is Israel’s largest volunteer-staffed organisation, delivering compassionate health and home-care services to people of all ages. The organisation has 122 branches across the country and over 7,000 volunteers that help over 800,000 people annually- with one in every two families benefitting from their support.
The organisation is almost entirely financed by donations. During the COVID-19 pandemic, The Foundation donated to the organisation to help with the purchase of oxygen generators, home ventilators and other medical kit. This allowed the organisation to lend out the equipment to patients who had contracted coronavirus and were struggling at home.
As a result, Yad Sarah was instrumental in keeping families together and maintaining the health of the nation at a time when people suffered all over the world. The donations made by The Foundation that funded the purchase of lifesaving Ecmo (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) equipment, helped save the lives of 28,000 people over the course of the pandemic, many of which were children.
