Bezalel Academy of Art & Design (“Bezalel”), which is in Jerusalem, is one of Israel’s oldest and most prestigious institutions. Batia and Idan, by way of The Foundation, have donated [£ X] to the academy, highlighting the importance they place on creativity, education and leadership. The donation will primarily contribute to the opening of ‘The Batia and Idan Ofer Arts Wing and International Arts Hub’ on the Bezalel Academy’s new campus later this year. The unveiling of this new wing, which will be the largest of its kind in Israel, celebrates the significant contributions made by The Foundation in establishing and developing the academy. More importantly, however, the wing will encompass almost 10,000 square meters, providing learning space for approximately 2,000 new students. In support of those students, the wing’s management have set out an ambitious program of activities that combines a tradition of excellence with international innovation.
Accordingly, the donation made by The Foundation emphasizes Batia and Idan’s commitment to the development of original thought and pioneering research. Moreover, the location of the new wing in the heart of Jerusalem, represents The Foundation’s belief about the central role thought leadership, new ideas and an outward looking mentality play in the progress of society. The Foundation’s support of Bezalel, as one of its cornerstone projects, highlights Batia and Idan’s belief that creativity has the power to transform- at the individual, institutional and societal level. Spearheaded by Batia and Idan, The Foundation will continue to support causes that positively contribute to the positive development of Israel’s future.
